Hemoglobin (haemoglobin,Hb or Hgb) is a protein containing iron that facilitates the transportation of oxygen in red blood cells.Hemoglobin in the blood carries oxygen from the respiratory organs (lungs or gills) to the other tissues of the body, where it releases the oxygen to enable aerobic respiration which powers an animal's metabolism.Hemoglobin concentration measurement is among the most commonly performed blood tests, usually as part of a complete blood count.

The recovery of Bovine Hb spiked at three different levels in samples throughout the range of the assay was evaluated in various matrices.

| Linearity

Samples were spiked with high concentrations of Bovine Hb and diluted with Universal Diluent to produce samples with values within the range of the assay.
